explore - marriage under the microscope

Would you like to support the education of today’s young people? Do you want to be involved in making a real difference to your community?

Exeter Community Family Trust have become partners with Explore, which is an educational charity that works in schools and prisons bringing young people and married couples together to explore the realities and rewards of lasting relationships, family life and marriage. Our aim, with the assistance of ICE Exeter, is to enable young people to gain a deeper understanding of those vital life skills that can provide success and happiness in committed lasting relationships, family life and marriage.
The active learning method that is used by Explore has been experienced by 28,000 young people over the last 8 years in 140 schools and 15 prisons. The participants have overwhelmingly rated the learning process highly [93%]. That method brings together young people between the ages of 14 and 18 with married couples to hold a dialogue using the relationship and family life of that couple as a model for learning.

Explore is not looking for perfect marriages, even if they exist! The only thing that really matters is the experience of our volunteers. We can guarantee that their story will be of interest to young people who invariably seek to explore the following topics:-

 - Trust - Loss and bereavement
 - Friendship - Conflict & problem resolution
 - Honesty - Forgiveness
 - Love - Having children
 - Commitment

In schools and prisons today the impact of family breakdown cannot be escaped. Explore is supporting educationalists and is totally consistent with all the national “drivers” of the educational curriculum with its workshop sessions and half day conferences, providing a proven proactive programme in “Relationships and Family”.
